Answer the Call: India - Latest News From Lea

Exciting News for January 2010

Well it is the start of a brand new year, and with that comes lots of new and exciting opportunities in my own life as well as the ministry for Answer the Call: India and Messiah Missions. As I sit here, I am thinking how God does everything in his timing, and how the seasons in our life and minsitry change, as we grow and mature. I do feel in my spirit that the time for this ministry to grow and bear fruit is drawing near and I am so blessed to be a part of it. When I first became involved in Pastor Matthew Raju's ministry and the orphanage, the Lord spoke clearly to me that in the due season, he would rise up those who he would cause to want to help. I am seeing that work come into fullfillment even now, first off with Steven Ray's passion for missions and his willingness to cover Answer the Call: India and Messiah Missions and help me with this most amazing website, and also by raising up people who are catching the vision and want to help the poor and destitute.

My biggest news at this time, is that on April 14, 2010, I am flying out to see my daughter Michelle who is currently in Thailand as a missionary. From there, we plan to fly to India together to see Pastor Matthew Raju and his family and the children. The main purpose of my trip to India is to connect with the children. I plan to take individual photos of them, document their history and story. As I ponder the process of getting them sponsored monthly, I am again, taken back by all the needs that must be met. The first step must be to help Pastor Matthew to relocate these children into a rented home and out of their one room church building. Pastor Matthew has informed me that such a home would cost around $150.00 to $200.00 a month. They need to have seperate rooms for the boys and for the girls, with indoor bathrooms, electricity and a kitchen, as well as room for their care takers. How amazing would it be to have enough room for the widows to have a place to live while they are hands on assisting in the care of the chidren.

Just imagine, for a mere $200.00 a month those 40 children can get out of sleeping in a 12X25 church and into a real home. They have never lived in a real house before, let alone one with a bathroom and running water. Oh how we take our comfortable homes for granted. In addition to the rent, they need sufficient food, and clothes which will also meet the needs also of the caretakers, the widows, and the pastor and his family.

To sponsor each child individually as I had hoped for is a huge process, and is difficult at this time due to limited resources and finances. I am calculating, that for $500.00 a month, they can pay rent and take care of all their additional needs.

If 50 people were to sponsor $10.00 a month...we would have somethig to build on..thats, lets see...2 cups of coffee at Starbucks. Better yet, 25 people can sponsor $20.00 a month. Anyway you mix and match it, it is not a lot of money for one month of care for chilren and the dear widows to live in a safe environment and to have proper nutrition and sufficient clothes. Please remember, 100% of all donations go directly to Pastor Matthew for the care of the children.

What next after that? I just know the possibities are endless. More chidren can come in out of the streets for care, a larger building and helping widows. What an outreach! Soon we can have the goal to get medicine and comfort to the lepers, ongoing college education for the chldren, help for the tribal pastors, a clinic, their own Christian based school...mission trips to go and help them build on their own land, crusades to bring in lost souls. Who can imagine the plans God has for them

Please, will you partner with me to help build and maintain this orphanage? I will start by committing to support $50.00 a month myself. Lets join together to make a difference in their world. We can even raise enough to spill over into Pastor John Mohans ministry in India and Pastor Paul David's ministry in Pakistan. Lets help our brothers and sisters in the Lord to overcome the poverty in their life and help equip them as they reach out to the needy in their world.

Gods Blessing to You,

Lea Haisch
